Derek Connon

Derek Connon is Professor of French at Swansea University. He has written monographs on Diderot's drama and dramatic theory, Diderot's endings, and the theatre of Alexis Piron. He has published critical editions of plays from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and articles on literary topics (mainly theatrical) from the seventeenth to mid-twentieth centuries. His interest in music is reflected in a collaborative study, with harpsichordist and musicologist Jane Clark, of the titles of François Couperin’s keyboard works. He is also the editor for French of the Modern Language Review. He is currently working on a monograph devoted to the theatre of Jean Cocteau.
